Despite the many activities taking place, Dominicans still made it their duty to support their culture as they turned out in large numbers at the Botanical Gardens for the 2010 National Cultural Gala on November 3^rd 2010. The event kicked of with an exhibition which showcased arts and crafts items made by Dominicans such as leather chains, scented candles, souvenir dolls and many more. The exhibition was then followed by the main event, the Cultural Gala which featured the winners from the various cultural competitions which took place during the Independence celebrations.
