The Ministry of Education is finally ready for the 2010/2011 school term, following weeks of preparations.
“The Ministry of Education is in a high state of readiness for the commencement of the new school year. Over the past few weeks within the Ministry of Education, we have ensured that all systems are put in place, and by that I refer to the issue of maintenance and repairs to the school plans. So far, twenty two (22) schools are being repaired and each one, except Concord will be ready by September 6th,” said Saint Jean.
The Minister added that school supplies needed for the new school term have also been received, coupled with the required staffing needed at all primary and secondary schools on the island.
“Staffing at all our primary and secondary schools to include principals are already in place. One of the key issues that always confront the Ministry of Education is the provision of supplies and materials for our various schools. I am happy to announce that we have on hand all the supplies necessary to ensure a smooth and effective school year,” announced Saint Jean.
Honorable Saint Jean said that while the ministry will be focusing on the quality of education this year, they will also address a number of other areas, which include the expansion of their school feeding program.
More than ninety percent of students on the island will return to their classrooms on September 6th, 2010. |
